The 4 inch Aura Gravity Ventilator AV-4-C2 with a 2 inch tall collar provides 2 inches of clearance between the base and the inner louvers of the vent. The AV-04-C2 and has 12 inches of net free area (NFA), and comes with a standard 10″ x 10″ square flange flashing.
If the exhaust vent is installed on the upper portion of the roof (no more than 2 feet down from the peak) then this Aura Vent can handle all climate zones as referenced on the zone chart. 4 inch Aura Vents can go on a 3/12 to 7/12 pitched roof but can be made to go onto roofs that have a 12/12 pitch. The sales department needs to be notified at the time of quoting or ordering if the intended roof vents are going to be installed on a roof pitch higher than 7/12.
The Aura Gravity Ventilator works like a roof turbine but with no moving parts.
Aura Gravity ventilator relies on its large outer louvers (fins) to create the “Venturi Effect” (the roof vent brings about an upward draft causing dynamic ventilation) when wind blows against the roof.
Even the smallest breeze can create exhaust ventilation so that air is drawn out of the gravity vent. This movement of air is proportional to the wind speed, and is measured in cubic feet per minute (CFM). Wind speeds of 11 mph for a 4 inch Aura Gravity Ventilator, produces 62 cfm of air exhaust for attic ventilation.
Listed below are the Engineering Benefits of the Aura Gravity Ventilator’s Multi Louver Design.
All of AVP’s roof vents can be fitted with tail pipe adapters if exhausting out a duct system is needed, or the gravity vent can be made with a curb mount flange to fit over a roof curb.
Aura Gravity Vents are UL Listed and rated up to 50+ PSF or wind pressure above 200 MPH. Certified by Texas Department of Insurance, Florida State Approved & Conforms to the Standards of CALFIRE.
