Round Back Roof Vent for SM-Rib Panel | Model RBV-12-C4-SM-Rib | 12-inch Diameter | 4-inch Collar

The RBV-12-C4-SM-Rib is a premium 12-inch round-back static roof vent engineered specifically for metal roofs. This is done by featuring a 16” x 24” sub-base that is fabricated to the profile of the SM-Rib, Tuff Rib, Panel-Loc Plus, AG-Rib, and Master Rib exposed fastener metal roof designs. Having the roof vents base match the shape of the SM-Rib roof ensures a watertight, professional fit.

High-Performance Ventilation

  • Optimal Airflow: A 4-inch tall collar provides critical clearance between the roofline and the internal louvers, maximizing exhaust efficiency.

  • Capacity: With 113 square inches of Net Free Area (NFA), a single vent effectively exhausts up to 470 square feet of attic space (based on the IBC 1/300 rule).

  • Strategic Placement: Designed for roof pitches of 2/12 or greater. For maximum performance, you may install the roof vent down to 4 feet maximum from the ridge cap to capture and release the hottest air and moisture.

Durability & Protection

  • Weather-Ready Design: Spun from a single piece of heavy-duty, corrosion-resistant aluminum, the aerodynamic lid provides superior structural strength against high winds and harsh weather.

  • Pest & Debris Shield: Precision-engineered internal louvers prevent rain and snow intrusion while keeping birds, insects, and wildlife out of your attic.

  • Lifetime Build: All-aluminum construction ensures the unit will remain rust-free for the life of the roof.

Energy Efficiency & Aesthetics

  • Year-Round Comfort: By exhausting radiant heat in the summer and moisture-laden air in the winter, these vents help protect your roof structure and lower energy costs.

  • Low-Profile Finish: The clean, round design blends effortlessly with metal panels. Choose from a variety of durable powder-coated colors that offer superior UV and weather resistance compared to standard wet paint.

Calculate number of Model  RBV-12-C4-SM-rib  Vents Needed for a Given Area

Enter the Width and Length of the attic space you need to ventilate to calculate the area. You may also enter the area directly in the "Area" field. It is not necessary to hit the Return or Enter key (which will refresh this page), just enter numbers in the fields.

Enter width of space to calculate area (or enter Area below)
Enter width of space to calculate area (or enter Area below)

If you know it, you may enter the area directly here

The diameter size of all roof vents determines the Net Free Area, also known as the "NFA". NFA is the measured amount of opening each vent offers at each specific size. to be available for venting air through a specific vent size. The calculator below will find the overall number of vents needed to effectively ventilate the targeted attic space.

Once you have the area, the numbers shown below are the number of vents of that size which would ventilate the specified area with both 1/300 and 1/150 rule.

*Please note
The roof vent calculation values shown above are for the exhaust portion of the roof. The same amount of net free air inches is needed for air intake as well. Proper roof ventilation consists of 50% air exhaust and 50% air intake.
