The 6 inch Attic Fan has a 6 inch diameter opening with a 4 inch tall collar. In other words, this fan has 4 inches of clearance between the base and the inner louvers.
The fan has 28 inches of net free area (NFA) and comes with a curb mount flange for roof curb installation.
The curb mount flange allows for easy installation on roof curbs of the same diameter. In addition, the curb mount flange can act as a hatch to access the ductwork below. We recommend installation on roofs with a pitch of 2/12 or less.
This attic fan will exhaust air continuously even when the motor is off. It works passively because of the Stack Effect. This occurs when the outside temperature is colder than the inside temperature. Hot air rises, so the warmer, indoor air is buoyant and presses upward to exit through the fan. As a result, allowing air to freely flow in and out.
This fan is ideal for venting out bathroom fans or range hoods. In addition, the round design is aerodynamic to withstand wind speeds up to 200 mph. The 6 inch Round Back Fan is great for residential roof applications because of its low profile. It can also be painted to match the color of the asphalt shingles.
