The 16 inch Aura Attic Fan is 16 inches in diameter and has an 8 inch tall collar. The model number is AF-16-C8 and exhausts air out at 1,800 CFM. All 16 inch gravity fans come with a standard 22″ x 22″ square flange.
The Aura Gravity Fan exhausts air continuously even when the motor is off. This attic fan works passively because of the Venturi Effect. When wind blows against the outer louvers this creates an upward draft which allows air to freely flow in and out of the vent. This Attic Fan is also available with optional Shut-Off Switch, Thermostat and Humidistat (THSOS).
The 1/8 inch louvers are designed to prevent rain, snow, insects and animals from entering inside the fan.
With 1/4 horsepower and 1,800 CFM, this 16 inch vent is perfect for ventilating all attic spaces.
The Aura Attic Fan comes in an array of diameters and collar heights allowing for installation in any climate zone. See the Climate Zone Chart to determine the proper collar height for installation in your area.
When the motor is turned off the attic fan will still ventilate passively. In other words, even the smallest breeze can create exhaust ventilation so that air is drawn out of the fan. This movement of air is proportional to the wind speed and is measured in cubic feet per minute (CFM). Therefore, wind speeds of 11 mph for a 16 inch attic fan produces 497 CFM of air exhaust for attic ventilation.
