8 inch Pitch Pan - Pitch Pocket with 3" Height | Model PP-8x8-H3 | Open Bottom

A pitch pan is a flanged, open-bottom, metal container that wraps around roof penetrations. They are then filled with mastic material to provide a water-tight seal. In other words, a pitch pan is a retrofit roof flashing kit.  Also known as a pitch pocket, they function as a container to hold fluid sealant to seal all roof penetrations.

They effectively secure odd-shaped penetrations to prevent leaks. Some of these roof penetrations may include electrical conduits, I-beam supports, or plumbing.

The PP-8x8-H3 is an 8 inch square box with 3 inches in height and a 12 inch square flange. The 8 inch pitch pan is perfect for covering up any openings in the roof. However, if you need a smaller size, we offer an array of sizes.

Pitch Pan Roof Flashing: Works with HVAC systems, TPO, PVC, and EPDM roofs.

Open pitch pans – pitch pockets are to flash roof penetrations that would be difficult to flash in any other way.  They will work with all roof types such as TPO, PVC, and EPDM. Pitch pans are also compatible with all HVAC systems to ensure a leak-proof seal. AVP’s pitch pocket waterproofing design will prevent leaks near the roof penetration.

At AVP, we offer an array of sizes and heights to fit the needs of all roof types in all climate zones. The height ranges from 3 inches to 8 inches depending on your location. Dryer climates can handle a shorter pitch pan while areas that receive more precipitation will need a taller one.

AVP’s pitch pan sizes also vary from square boxes to rectangular boxes. Square pitch pockets are ideal for containing single penetrations; while on the other hand. The rectangle pitch pockets are made to container multiple small penetrations close together. As a result, every customer will be able to find a pitch pocket to fit all roofing needs.

Made from durable rust-free aluminum, AVP’s pitch pockets will last and keep the roof protected. For any questions, email us at sales@roofvents.com or call at 1-800-ROOFVENT.

The diameter size of all roof vents determines the Net Free Area, also known as the "NFA". NFA is the measured amount of opening each vent offers at each specific size. to be available for venting air through a specific vent size. The calculator below will find the overall number of vents needed to effectively ventilate the targeted attic space.

Once you have the area, the numbers shown below are the number of vents of that size which would ventilate the specified area with both 1/300 and 1/150 rule.

*Please note
The roof vent calculation values shown above are for the exhaust portion of the roof. The same amount of net free air inches is needed for air intake as well. Proper roof ventilation consists of 50% air exhaust and 50% air intake.
