3 inch Aura Solar PVC Pipe Cap Fan | Model ASF-3-PVC

The 3 inch Aura Solar PVC Vent Cap is ideal for ventilating vapors and particles from a PVC pipe. This Vent Cap is for both commercial and residential applications. The model ASF-3-PVC fits over a 3 inch PVC pipe.

Benefits:

  • Keeps your home comfortable and energy efficient
  • Works passively with the wind when there is no sunlight
  • Inner louvers prevent insects and animals from entering the vent
  • Round aerodynamic design can withstand harsh weather

Installation:

This Vent Cap uses both solar and wind power to ventilate PVC pipes. The solar panel only works in bright direct sunlight. However, the fan will still work passively by using the Venturi Effect. When the wind blows against the outer louvers this creates an upward draft which allows air to freely flow in and out of the vent.

The 1/8 inch louvers are designed to prevent rain, snow, insects and animals from entering inside the vent.

How it works:

When the motor is off the attic fan will still ventilate passively. In other words, even the smallest breeze can create exhaust ventilation to draw air out of the fan. This air movement is proportional to the wind speed and measured in cubic feet per minute (CFM).

If ventilating radon exhaust systems, the PVC Vent Cap's superior exhausting optimizes the CFM for the in-line fans. As a result, this eliminates back pressure to the in-line fan traditionally caused by using T-Fittings or two 90 degree elbow fittings. In addition, this protects the fan from moisture damage caused by rain, snow or ice entry.

When ventilating environmental remediation systems, the Aura Solar PVC Vent Cap can be used to cap the PVC pipes used to release vapors in numerous places. For instance, some places may include landfills, gas stations, contaminated soil sites, chemical containment bunkers and groundwater sites.

Calculate number of Model  ASF-3-PVC  Vents Needed for a Given Area

Enter the Width and Length of the attic space you need to ventilate to calculate the area. You may also enter the area directly in the "Area" field. It is not necessary to hit the Return or Enter key (which will refresh this page), just enter numbers in the fields.

The diameter size of all roof vents determines the Net Free Area, also known as the "NFA". NFA is the measured amount of opening each vent offers at each specific size. to be available for venting air through a specific vent size. The calculator below will find the overall number of vents needed to effectively ventilate the targeted attic space.

Once you have the area, the numbers shown below are the number of vents of that size which would ventilate the specified area with both 1/300 and 1/150 rule.

*Please note
The roof vent calculation values shown above are for the exhaust portion of the roof. The same amount of net free air inches is needed for air intake as well. Proper roof ventilation consists of 50% air exhaust and 50% air intake.
