6-inch Aura Solar Attic Fan | Model ASF-6-C12 | 205 CFM

The 6-inch Aura Solar Attic Fan is 6 inches in diameter and has a 12-inch tall collar. The model ASF-6-C12 exhausts air at 205 CFM. All 6-inch solar attic fans have a standard 12" x 12" square flange.

Installation:

Exhaust fans with a collar height of 12 inches or greater are for low slope or flat roof ventilation. This solar fan can be installed in all climate zones on a 0/12 to 5/12 pitch roof.

The Aura Solar Attic Fan removes heat during the summer and moisture during the winter to provide ventilation all year. Keeping the attic dry during the winter preserves insulation and prevents ice dams.

How it works:

The Aura Solar Attic Fan uses direct sunlight to power its fan. The panel above needs bright, uninterrupted sunlight, preferably on a south-facing roof. Never point the solar panel in a northern direction, or it will not work.

The solar attic fan exhausts air continuously, even without the sun (cloudy days and evenings). It works passively due to the Venturi Effect. When the wind blows against the outer louvers, this creates a vortex of air within the head, creating an upward draft that allows air to flow out of the vent.

The 1/8-inch louvers prevent rain, snow, insects, and animals from entering inside the fan.

The diameter size of all roof vents determines the Net Free Area, also known as the "NFA". NFA is the measured amount of opening each vent offers at each specific size. to be available for venting air through a specific vent size. The calculator below will find the overall number of vents needed to effectively ventilate the targeted attic space.

Once you have the area, the numbers shown below are the number of vents of that size which would ventilate the specified area with both 1/300 and 1/150 rule.
