Roof Curb Cap - Roof Curb Cover - Model SRC-Cap-8

The SRC-Cap-8 is a Roof Curb Cap that fits onto a roof curb with an 11" OD or any of AVP's SRC-8 Roof Curbs.

How the Roof Curb Cap Works:

This roof curb cap will fit over existing curbs with an outer diameter of 11 inches. The top of the cap is a solid sheet of aluminum that protects the curb's opening. When no vent or fan is installed, it covers the curb's top, keeping out precipitation and wildlife from entering the attic.

To install, place the roof curb cover over the curb. Make sure the cap is centered, and then attach self-tapping sheet metal screws onto the sides of the cap's flange.

What is a Roof Curb?

A Roof Curb is a metal box that acts as a base or hatch to mount a cap, roof vent, or fan onto.

Many roof curbs are made of wood, which is heavy and can damage the roofing membrane. Avoid damage by buying AVP's prefabricated aluminum curbs; they are lightweight and never rust or rot.

The diameter size of all roof vents determines the Net Free Area, also known as the "NFA". NFA is the measured amount of opening each vent offers at each specific size. to be available for venting air through a specific vent size. The calculator below will find the overall number of vents needed to effectively ventilate the targeted attic space.

Once you have the area, the numbers shown below are the number of vents of that size which would ventilate the specified area with both 1/300 and 1/150 rule.

*Please note
The roof vent calculation values shown above are for the exhaust portion of the roof. The same amount of net free air inches is needed for air intake as well. Proper roof ventilation consists of 50% air exhaust and 50% air intake.
