The 6 inch Round Back Attic Fan is 6 inches in diameter with a 4 inch tall collar. In other words, this fan has 2 inches of clearance between the base and the inner louvers.
The model RBF-6-C4 has 28 inches of net free area (NFA) and comes with an 11” x 11” square flange.
If installed 3 feet from the peak of the roof on a pitch of 3/12 or greater, this fan will be suitable in climate zones 1-4. However, if the installment is less than 18 inches from the peak on a roof pitch of 4/12 or greater, this vent is suitable for all climate zones.
The 6 inch Round Back Fan is best on roofs with a 3/12 to 12/12 roof pitch.
This attic fan will exhaust air continuously even when the motor is off. It works passively because of the Stack Effect. This occurs when the outside temperature is colder than the inside temperature. Hot air rises, so the warmer, indoor air is buoyant and presses upward to exit through the fan. As a result, allowing air to freely flow out of the vent.
This fan is ideal for venting out bathroom fans or range hoods. In addition, the round design is aerodynamic to withstand wind speeds up to 200 mph. The 6 inch Round Back Fan is great for residential roof applications because of its low profile. It can also be painted to match the color of the asphalt shingles.
