14-inch Aura Solar Attic Fan | Model ASF-14-C12 | 1,007 CFM
The 14-inch Aura Solar Attic Fan is 14 inches in diameter and has a 12-inch tall collar. The model ASF-14-C12 exhausts air out at 1,007 CFM. All 14-inch solar gravity fans have a standard 19" x 19" square flange.
Benefits:
- Keeps your home comfortable and energy-efficient
- The fan runs virtually silent at 1,007 cfm
- Fan gets electricity from direct sunlight
- Works passively with the wind when there is no sunlight
- Inner louvers prevent insects and animals from entering the vent
- Round aerodynamic design can withstand harsh weather
Installation:
Exhaust fans with a collar height of 12 inches are typically used for low-slope or flat-roof ventilation. This fan can be used on a 0/12 to 5/12 pitch roof in all climate zones.
The Aura Solar Fan is ideal for ventilating low-slope or flat roofs. It removes heat during the summer and moisture during the winter to provide ventilation all year. Keeping the attic dry during the winter will preserve attic insulation and prevent ice dams.
How it works:
The Aura Solar Attic Fan uses direct sunlight to power its fan. The panel above needs bright, uninterrupted sunlight, preferably on a south-facing roof. Never point the solar panel in a northern direction, or it will not work.
Solar attic fans exhaust air continuously, even without the sun (on cloudy days and evenings). They work passively due to the Venturi Effect. When the wind blows against the outer louvers, this creates a vortex of air within the head, creating an upward draft that allows air to flow out of the vent.
The 1/8-inch louvers prevent rain, snow, insects, and animals from entering inside the fan.
