12-inch Aura Solar Exhaust Fan with Curb Mount Flange | Model ASF-12-C12-CMF | 740 CFM

The 12-inch Aura Solar Exhaust Fan is 12 inches in diameter and has a 12-inch tall collar. The model ASF-12-C12-CMF exhausts air at 740 CFM. All 12-inch solar exhaust fans have a standard 16 x 16-inch curb mount flange.

Benefits:

  • Solar fan reaches 740 CFM for attic ventilation
  • Solar panel works off of direct sunlight
  • Keeps your home or building comfortable and energy-efficient
  • Works passively with the wind when there is no sunlight
  • Inner louvers prevent insects and animals from entering the vent
  • Round aerodynamic design can withstand harsh weather
  • Engineered to fit over a roof curb

Installation: Only for low slope or flat roofs on a roof curb.

This solar exhaust fan has a curb mount flange, which allows easy installation on AVP's prefabricated roof curbs or any other roof curb as long as the dimensions are 15 7/8 inches x 15 7/8 inches and square in shape. If the curb is to be covered in roofing material, then the curb should measure 15 1/2 inches x 15 1/2 inches.

The 12-inch solar exhaust fan with curb mount flange is compatible with AVP's roof curbs in height 6-inch- 8-inch- 12-inch- and 18-inch tall roof curbs.

The 12-inch solar exhaust fan with curb mount flange is compatible with AVP's insulated roof curbs in heights 6-inch- 8-inch- 12-inch- and 18-inch tall roof curbs.

How it works:

The Aura Solar Exhaust Fan works off of direct sunlight. This solar exhaust fan uses wind to power the ventilator on cloudy days and evenings.

The fan continuously exhausts air when sunlight is unavailable due to the Venturi Effect. This occurs when the wind blows against the outer louvers to create an upward draft, allowing air to flow freely out of the vent. Even the slightest breeze can create exhaust ventilation to draw air out of the fan.

The 1/8-inch louvers prevent rain, snow, insects, and animals from entering inside the fan.

The diameter size of all roof vents determines the Net Free Area, also known as the "NFA". NFA is the measured amount of opening each vent offers at each specific size. to be available for venting air through a specific vent size. The calculator below will find the overall number of vents needed to effectively ventilate the targeted attic space.

Once you have the area, the numbers shown below are the number of vents of that size which would ventilate the specified area with both 1/300 and 1/150 rule.

*Please note
The roof vent calculation values shown above are for the exhaust portion of the roof. The same amount of net free air inches is needed for air intake as well. Proper roof ventilation consists of 50% air exhaust and 50% air intake.
