4" Aura Gravity Roof Ventilator with Curb Mount Flange | Model AV-4-C6-CMF

The 4-inch Aura Gravity Roof Ventilator with Curb Mount Flange is 4 inches in diameter and has a 6-inch tall collar. The model AV-4-C6-CMF has 12 inches of Net Free Area (NFA). All 4-inch gravity roof ventilators have a standard 7.5" x 7.5" curb mount flange.

Benefits:

  • Removes hot air from the attic in the summer & moisture in the winter
  • Inner louvers prevent rain, snow, insects, and animals from entering the vent
  • Exhaust air like a roof turbine, but with no moving parts
  • Keeps your home or building comfortable and energy-efficient
  • The curb mount flange allows for easy access to the attic or duct below
  • Noiseless – does not require electricity to exhaust air

Installation: On a roof curb

This roof vent has a curb mount flange, which allows easy installation on AVP's prefabricated roof curbs or any other roof curb as long as the dimensions are 7 3/8 inches x 7 3/8 inches and square in shape. If the curb is to be covered in roofing material, then the curb should measure 7 inches x 7 inches.

The 4-inch Aura Gravity Roof Vents with curb mount flange are compatible with AVP's roof curbs in heights 6-inch- 8-inch and 12-inch tall roof curbs.

The 4-inch Aura Gravity Roof Vents with curb mount flange are compatible with AVP's insulated roof curbs in heights 6-inch- 8-inch and 12-inch tall roof curbs.

How the Roof Vents Operate:

The Aura Gravity Roof Ventilator works like a turbine with no moving parts.

Aura Gravity Roof Vents rely on the Venturi Effect, which is when the wind blows against the outer louvers to create an upward draft. As a result, air is forced to flow out of the vent, removing heat from the attic in the summer and moisture in the winter. This allows for year-round ventilation on low slopes or flat roofs.

Even the slightest breeze can create exhaust ventilation to draw air out of the gravity roof vent. Therefore, wind speeds of 11 mph for a 4-inch Gravity Roof Ventilator produce 62 CFM of air exhaust for attic ventilation.

Calculate number of Model  AV-4-C6-CMF  Vents Needed for a Given Area

Enter the Width and Length of the attic space you need to ventilate to calculate the area. You may also enter the area directly in the "Area" field. It is not necessary to hit the Return or Enter key (which will refresh this page), just enter numbers in the fields.

The diameter size of all roof vents determines the Net Free Area, also known as the "NFA". NFA is the measured amount of opening each vent offers at each specific size. to be available for venting air through a specific vent size. The calculator below will find the overall number of vents needed to effectively ventilate the targeted attic space.

Once you have the area, the numbers shown below are the number of vents of that size which would ventilate the specified area with both 1/300 and 1/150 rule.

*Please note
The roof vent calculation values shown above are for the exhaust portion of the roof. The same amount of net free air inches is needed for air intake as well. Proper roof ventilation consists of 50% air exhaust and 50% air intake.
