Under Eave Soffit Vent | Model SV-W10-L27

The Under Eave Soffit Vent is an air intake roof vent. To clarify, Soffit Vents are roof vents installed underneath the eaves of a roof that extend past the warm wall line. When properly combined with other roof ventilation devices, soffit vents allow fresh air to enter into an attic to create proper airflow.

This model is the SV-W10-L27 which is 27 inches long with 137 inches of Net Free Area (NFA).

Installation:

Soffit vents are essential for completing proper attic ventilation. At first, it may seem odd to add insulation for warmth then purposely allow cold air to enter the attic through soffit vents. On the contrary, attic ventilation is the key to a durable and energy-efficient home.

Allowing a natural flow of outdoor air to circulate the attic helps to achieve proper ventilation. As a result, this prevents mold from growing and keeps the insulation dry. In addition to intake air, you will also need to exhaust out the stale air from the attic. See the Exhaust Vents to complete your attic ventilation.

How it works:

This attic vent is ideal for obtaining proper attic ventilation. Under eave vents allow fresh outside air into the attic or plenum. The 1/8 inch opening between the horizontal louvers blades will keep out precipitation and wildlife while allowing air to move freely.

In addition to its functionality, the louvers will keep out rain and snow. We also offer powder coating in order for your vents to match the color of your roof.

There are numerous benefits to having soffit vents installed on your home.

If you know it, you may enter the area directly here

The diameter size of all roof vents determines the Net Free Area, also known as the "NFA". NFA is the measured amount of opening each vent offers at each specific size. to be available for venting air through a specific vent size. The calculator below will find the overall number of vents needed to effectively ventilate the targeted attic space.

Once you have the area, the numbers shown below are the number of vents of that size which would ventilate the specified area with both 1/300 and 1/150 rule.

*Please note
The roof vent calculation values shown above are for the exhaust portion of the roof. The same amount of net free air inches is needed for air intake as well. Proper roof ventilation consists of 50% air exhaust and 50% air intake.
