Insulated Roof Curb 6" Square OD x 12" High | R-Value 2.7 | RC-3-H12-Ins

This insulated roof curb has a 6" square OD that will fit a vent or fan with a 6.5 inch OD or AVP's 3-inch vents or fans. These insulated curbs are only compatible with vents or fans that have a curb mount flange. AVP's prefabricated Roof Curbs are for flat roof or low slope roof applications.

Insulation is Johns Manville R-2.7, 0.5 inch thick foil faced polyiso board. Polyiso has the highest R-value per inch of any rigid board insulation. This insulation meets both CFC- and HCFC-free specification requirements.

Additionally, it's produced with an EPA-compliant hydrocarbon-based blowing agent that has zero Ozone Depletion Potential (ODP) and virtually no Global Warming Potential (GWP).
Installation: Only for EPDM, PVC and TPO roofs.
  • Improves Energy Efficiency
  • Exceptional Thermal Control
  • Water Resistive Barrier
  • Air Barrier
  • Vapor Retarder
  • Acoustical Control

Insulated roof curbs provide an extra layer of protection from the outside weather. The Johns Manville insulation is double foiled to stop the build up of moisture. Instead, the foil repels water to prevent possible mold from forming.

The flashing allows for fasteners to securely attach the curb to the roof. Once placed, it is to be covered with roofing material for a water-tight seal.

Building heavy wooden curbs can cause damage to the roofing membrane. Instead, eliminate the possibility of damage by using AVP's prefabricated ones. This roof curb is aluminum alloy 3003-H14 with a 0.025" thickness (± 0.005”).

In addition, AVP offers curbs in 6 inches tall, 12 inches tall and 18 inches tall

What is a Roof Curb?

A Roof Curb is a metal frame to act as a base for a roof vent or fan. As a result, this base will provide additional height allowing for installation in all climate zones. Proper installation ensures that the accessory has a level platform for attachment. They can also work as a hatch allowing for easy access to ductwork, HVAC units or maintenance in the attic below.

The Curb Mounted Flange Vent Lines are ready to install on AVP's roof curbs. This includes Aura Vent, Pop Vents and Round Back Vents. As well as Attic Fans and Aura Solar Fans for powered ventilation.

The diameter size of all roof vents determines the Net Free Area, also known as the "NFA". NFA is the measured amount of opening each vent offers at each specific size. to be available for venting air through a specific vent size. The calculator below will find the overall number of vents needed to effectively ventilate the targeted attic space.

Once you have the area, the numbers shown below are the number of vents of that size which would ventilate the specified area with both 1/300 and 1/150 rule.

*Please note
The roof vent calculation values shown above are for the exhaust portion of the roof. The same amount of net free air inches is needed for air intake as well. Proper roof ventilation consists of 50% air exhaust and 50% air intake.
